  • Stuart J. M. Collinson, Ph.D.

    Chairman of the Board

    Dr. Collinson is a partner at Forward Ventures. Previously he was Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Aurora Biosciences Corporation (acquired by Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc. for $600 million). Before Aurora, Dr. Collinson was Chief Executive Officer of privately held Andaris Limited (acquired by Quadrant plc, now part of Elan Corporation PLC). He held senior management positions at GlaxoWellcome PLC (now GlaxoSmithKline PLC) and Baxter International Inc., and was a consultant with The Boston Consulting Group.

    Dr. Collinson is a director of Affinium Pharmaceuticals., Asteres Inc., Essentialis Inc., Sequel Pharmaceuticals Inc., Tioga Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc. Dr. Collinson was previously a director of Cabrellis Pharmaceuticals Inc. (acquired by Pharmion, now part of Celgene Corporation), Conforma Therapeutics Corporation (acquired by BiogenIdec), GeneOhm Sciences (acquired by Becton Dickinson), NovaCardia Inc. (acquired by Merck & Co.), and Proprius Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Cypress Bioscience).

    Dr. Collinson was awarded an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Oxford.

  • Professor Graham Boulnois, PhD

    Board Member

    Professor Graham Boulnois joined SVLS as a Venture Partner in 2001 and became a Partner in 2004. Graham is a Director of Delanex, Oxagen, Affinium and Vantia. He has responsibility for overseeing the investment in Cellzome. He was a Director at Lorantis, Alantos (prior to its sale to Amgen) and ESBATech (prior to its sale to Alcon Inc).

    Before joining SVLS, Graham was Senior Vice President in the R&D function at Aventis Pharma where he had global responsibility for Lead Generation. Prior to joining Aventis, Graham spent a number of years at Zeneca Pharmaceuticals as Senior Vice President, Discovery Research and then with AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals as Global Vice President, Enabling Science and Technology. Before joining the pharmaceutical industry, he was Professor of Microbiology, Chairman of Biological Sciences and Pro-Dean of the Science Faculty at Leicester University.

    Graham has a BSc in Biological Science and a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Leicester.

  • Damian Lamb

    Board Member

    Mr. Lamb is co-Founder and Managing Director of Genesys Capital. He brings a unique experience base, blending skills in both the commercial and technical side of biotechnology. Since co-founding Genesys Capital in 2000, Mr. Lamb has been instrumental in raising over $225 million in venture capital funds, and has been involved in deploying over $100 million in 20 investments. He currently serves on the Boards of Affinium Pharmaceuticals, Profound Medical Inc. and the Centre for Probe Development and Commercialization at McMaster University. He has served on the Board of Ionalytics Corporation (acquired by Thermo Electron Corp.), Millenium Biologix (acquired by Medtronic) and was Chairman of the Board of DELEX Therapeutics Inc. when it was sold to YM BioSciences. Mr. Lamb works closely with Genesys investee companies to strategically position the companies to build value for shareholders.

    Prior to co-founding Genesys Capital, Mr. Lamb was an Investment Manager with MDS Capital Corp. He is a frequently invited speaker at biotechnology industry conferences and was a judge for the BioNorth Top 10 Canadian Life Sciences Companies contest from 2000 - 2008.

    Mr. Lamb graduated from McMaster University, Faculty of Health Sciences, with an M.S. in Molecular Neurobiology and also holds an MBA from Queen's University.
